All this fury about the Blog and Multiply has my poor little jet lagged head spinning.
Seems to me if I hit 'reply' on a normal post, then the reply goes through without being divereted to any other account like FB or....
And if I post a new entry like this one, does Save & Publish to anything more than put it on the Blog for Members only?
Errrr......if this is the case, not sure about the sound and fury that erupted on Friday???
Please explain.

Hi Terry, welcome back.
ReplyDeleteI am no expert but I think the concern is that it will be easy to press the wrong button and end up posting on any of the other social forums. These buttons are where the comment button used to be.
The other concern is that this is a safe place for people to have some fun whilst supporting each other. If there is any risk of stuff being put elsewhere then we would not be able to be as relaxed and dare I say 'naughty' as we are.
Hope this helps
xx
Hmmmm.....n my blog, which I do post to FaceBook, yo can't post it 'accidentally'. You click on the FaceBook logo and another screen comes up asking if you want to post and giving you a chance to comment. I'd be VERY surprisesd if anything posted her could inadvertently be posted elsewhere unless of course the poster had been drinking heavily - which might be the case with some members - no names no pack drill as we used to say in the army days:-)
ReplyDeleteMorning Terry and Bev, Hope the cruise did you some good, Terry.
ReplyDeleteGood morning to everyone.
I think the comments are about the placing of "comments button" and what will they do next !
We will have to see how we get on.
Morning Terry, Bev, Chris and all.
ReplyDeleteI don't use FB, Twitter or such like, so quite honestly it's not going to bother me much.
However, I am annoyed that even though this is a Premium account site, for which I've paid a yearly fee, Mutilply suddenly planted such networking links on it.
The whole idea of paying for premium was that we don't get adverts etc.
The first inkling of changes was when they announced that when our premium subscription expires (well into next year), premium accounts would end....because there wasn't a high demand for them (BOLLOCKS!). It's all down to cash. I suppose they'll get far more from the social networking sites (AND the retailers on the 'MarketPlace' option which was also imposed on us a few weeks back.
Mutiply recently stated that they were updating their platform to give us all a much better service.
All that has changed is these unwanted additions....the format is still awful, and posting blogs and replies STILL has too many glitches on too many days.
I do understand the outrage expressed by Elise in that very first post which alerted us all to it.
For years, when posting a new blog, the buttons for submitting it were on the right hand side,
Suddenly they were changed over to the left, and the new buttons appeared on the right.
If anyone was tired, seven sheets to the wind...or just a dozy old fart like me....the I suppose it could be quite easy to click one of the new sharing buttons by mistake!
Further, although membership is strictly controlled here, there is always a chance a 'rogue member' could arrive and deliberately post our blogs on the likes of Facebook. The whole thread would be seen there.
I have asked Mutiply for help in deleting the new additions, and am now waiting their reply.
The problem we have is that there aren't many option out there, MSN groups was the best platform we ever had, but nothing compares to it these days.
I do have a 'Plan B'....a new B2PCa platform was set up a month ago (in case we needed to move out of Multiply)......but it's still not the ideal format for us all.
Anyway, enough of all this - it's far too technical and contentious for a BOLLOCKS site.
As I type this, it's Saturday...and a little bird told me it's national Beaver Day!!
Well lets hope things get sorted out....but for NOW...
