Friday: FURIOUS WITH MULTIPLY

MULTIPLY

Dear All,

Until I logged on today,I had no idea that Multiply had added Facebook & Twitter links to the blog message boxes.here.

WTF are they playing at???

I now see what Elise meant.....the sly bastards have stuck them right where we would normally click to 'submit' our replies.

I've tried remove these tabs, to no avail.

Till the problem is fixed, please be careful...and click the tab on the LEFT SIDE of the blog you wish to reply to.

  1. I'm now testing a 'reply' with a cut and paste from yesterdays' posts:

(Elise): WHO THE FCUK put Twitter, FB, etc links on here ??? GEORGE !!!!!! A word please, the whole damm blog nearly ended up on my FB page....Oh Yes.....be afraid people.

Lil' Duck? Do you really think I'd be so stoooopid as to want all our posts splattered on the likes of Facebook and Twitter???
Geeeeeeeeeeeezus...I think you know... I 'Don't Do' those invasive 24/7 social networking sites.

Never mind....we need the problem sorted. I've already tried with the admin tools. Can you and Mike use your 'admin customization' links to take another look?

    I'll be contacting Mutilpy directly.

I have a VIRGIN guy coming to the house sometime today. Don't all rush, ladies (Whoaaaa Bev!!) he's only here to try and fix my broadband problems.

  4. Hi Guys, working on this, but its looking more and more like the Multiply platform, as opposed to something we can edit out. I am working on it xx

  5. I think I have found a 'work around' give me time to check it works, then I will post instructions on how you can all adjust your settings xx

  6. Okay, what I have done works. However, it also wipes out the background theme [Black Lilly] and there is no way of separating the two. However, all the pics, blogs photos etc are there, except the background theme. All I have now is a plain black background...quite nice actually !

if you want instructions on how to remove the icons, I will post. let me know please people xx

I wonder if you did it by tinkering with your 'personal Multiply' account settings????

  8. Great stuff Lil' Duck xxx

Cable man mucking about with my tackle here.......so I'll have to wait till later till I edit my own screen view of the site.

You say the black lilly background has gone? I don't mind at all about that...never liked it, but it was the best on offer when I set up the site.
As long as the B2PCa 'V sign' pic is there, I'm more than happy!

    Catchya later : )~

  9. Sorry Elise, after "right click" nothing you've put comes up.

I don't mind using as is, BUT would prefer to go back to as we were.

  10. The RIGHT CLICK on the offending icon is a process from your own PCs. If it is not giving you access, then there is nowt then I can suggest. I use Windows 7 on here, XP and Vista on my other 2 PCs. It is a generic command, nothing special I have added.

The right click should give a drop down box, listing a load of options. You must right click on the icon Guys xx get back to me, as I think you should have access to this the same as me xx

Chris xx I would like to go back to the way it was too, but this is a fundamental change by Multiply to the platform, and nothing we can fix as admin, except by 'blocking' or 'hiding' these command links xx Sorry dude, this is the best I can come up with xx

John xx You can always give me a call and I can run through the process with you [ no smart comments George !!] same with you Chris xx

  11. Yes guys. I have the same problem. I can't remove the offending links in the way Elise was able to, despite following the instructions.
I use Vista on my desktop pc and we have XP on the laptop.

Katrina has Windows 7 on her lappy, so I may try that later.

If all fails, let's see if the Multiply Hierarchy can do anything about it.

HOWEVER... I have a feeling we may be stuck with those 'SHARE' and 'EMAIL' tabs because of one reason.

I have always paid a yearly fee to keep B2PCa as a PREMIUM account.

Sometime last month I received an email saying that Multiply were no longer going to operate premium accounts as "there wasn't a demand for it"...(BOLLOCKS!!).

This means they can now stick a big tab like 'MARKETPLACE' on the homepage, and stupid unwanted tabs anywhere else they might fancy.

I can see this taking while to sort out...so in the meantime, we must all be careful that we don't click 'SHARE' or EMAIL' when we submit a blog.

Of course, if you don't have Twitter, Facebook or similar networking accounts, then you won't be sharing anyway, even if you do click the wrong button.

My Virgin guy has now gone...on his way to Bristol to see Bev!!

  12. Lap-top is windows 7, but I still can't get any of your instructions. SORRY.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Thats really weird Chris, as this lappy is definitely Windows 7......Why can I access all this then, and you can't ?? xx

    ReplyDelete
  14. So, when you put the 'mouse' directly over the fb, twitter icon [etc] and right click, nothing happens ?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Right click on "twitter" gives :-
OPEN, OPEN IN NEW TAB, OPEN IN NEW WINDOW, SAVE TARGET AS, CUT(blanked out), COPY(blanked out), COPY SHORT CUT, PASTE(blanked out), E-MAIL WITH WINDOWS LIVE, TRANSLATE WITH BING, ALL ACCELERATORS, ADD TO FAVORITES, PROPERTIES.

    ReplyDelete
  16. If you click on 'open in new window' Chris, what option does that then give you ? Once opened, can you right click again to access the drop down panel that I had, so that you can access the 'view page info' ??

    ReplyDelete
  17. I get USER NAME , SIGN INTO TWITTER

Its the same whether right click or left click.

    ReplyDelete
  18. So how could I access that information Guys ?? I started on the first icon, I think it was facebook, then just worked my way along the queue.....Why can I do this and not you ? Its the same system ? I should all be the same ?

Chris, if you click on 'save target as', what options does that give you ?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Whether right or left DOCUMENTS LIBRARY

    ReplyDelete
  20. If you right click on the 'like' icon, what does that bring up Chris ? xx

    ReplyDelete
  21. The virgin guy has been and gone. George, nowhere as good as you my darling but thats our secret!

Ian is going to sort out me icons later.
