IF YOU CAN'T LAUGH, YOU CRY

George,

That tribute to Phil is tremendous. The photos of a man who was so obviously happy and vibrant will I am sure be a great consolation to his friends and family once they get over the shock of his parting.

Although I never met Phil, I have a feeling he might have liked this pic - and I'm sure he would have been of the opinion that even in our sadness a bit of a laugh is not out of place as we chorus Bollocks-To-PCa. It may take some of us, but it can't wear us all down.

.....which of these children is a urologist of the future??

  1. Morning/Evening Terry xx You made me smile xx Big Guy would have found that pic hilarious, and definitely had a snappy comment to make about it ! I had a long chat with George, Hilary and Sherri last night. We are all stunned and upset. Tributes to Big Guy have been pouring in, from the Ladies site that I run, to here, to the PCC forum, to the other site that I run for PCa support. What a guy xx Hilary, Sherri and Gemma have found all the messages such a comfort at this terrible time. At least something is helping them cope just now xx I just cannot get my head around this one.

Dad had a tough time at the hospital yesterday, waiting nearly all day to get scans done to rule out SCC. This is such a bloody awful disease, it really is.

I am really hoping that somebody has some good news today? Anyone? Back to work again for me today, but off wed and thurs. Two cakes to make this week, and hubby headed to UK this morning for 3 days, for a course for work. He is not impressed [neither am I] but needs must.

Anyway Bollockeers, have a wicked day please :-) Chins up, as Big Guy would hate us to be sad. Something that I know he loved, and is the theme song for here. Missing you Big Guy xx

  2. We've got a bit of good news - we're off on our trip today week. We've been focussed on the fact that this is not a rehearsal for some fifteen years now! I've even started a blog if anyone is interested. That's at http://travelrabs.blogspot.com/

This one 'Albatross' was his favourite.....It touched me enormously seeing the pics to this video...
It suddenly hit me seeing the freedom of the Albatross in flight, that Phil is now free from this bastard disease....RIP matey..

  5. Heyyyyyyyy Folks and Good Mooning!

Terry? You mightn't have met Phil, but you knew the kind of guy he was. THANKS for the funny pic AND that opening header (I wasn't quite sure how to head the topic today...but your choice was excellent!!).

The show will go on - absolutely!
I must tell you a story. I started this site in Ocober 2006 with the sole intention of having a very irreverent - and outrageous - place for like minded folks to escape for the constant worry of the PCa world.

The cartoons and funny photos were always getting me into trouble with MSN, who then operated their MSN Groups.
Phil appeared from out of the blue and said it was just the type of site he'd been looking for, and from our first contact we got on like a house on fire.
His posts were even more outrageous than mine! lol

About three years into my illness I was suddenly hit by a deep depression which flattened me and I couldn't seem to fight my way out of it.
I felt I couldn't carry on with the daily fun.
PHIL PULLED ME THROUGH IT. The show here has never stopped - and it's all thanks to Phil. He was irrepressible, and always looked on the bright side of lfe (another of our favourite tunes here - Thanks for putting it on here today, Elise xxx).

Day one without The Cap'n, but there are going to be thousands of days of naughty posts to come.

    Altogether now.....
    'BOLLOCKS TO PCa'!!!

(Oh yeah? And a big set of bazookas too!!)

  8. Nice ones John Boy! lol

And here's two of my personal favourites.

When Phil and I did our bush-trimming course years ago, we had to travel all the way to Penrith.

Geeez, we'd spend hours on the edge of that platform!

Feeling really wrecked now, due to my early start this morning, and just finishing 4 days at work. 2 birthday cakes to produce [yes, I will post pics] and manage my 2 demons on my own for a few days ! BALVENIE here I come ! Also a big one tonight to toast our beloved Captain xx

  11. Chris xx Dad said he has to wait 3-5 days for the scan results, which seems mighty quick to me......will have to wait and see what happens. It was a shambles yesterday, that on top of the news about Phil, and dad nearly gave up the ghost too. He isn't good at the moment, and I think he could be getting SCC. Its all such a worry, especially as I am so far away. Fingers crossed for him, as I don't think I could take any more bad news just now. Thanks so much for your concern, and please keep well xx

  12. Its all a bit surreal, & going to miss Phil's daily blogs,& his animated responses, which often had me laughing out loud.!!........Glad you both will continue with the site & know that he will be with us in spirit........I too will have a 'stiff one' tonite in memory of him..

Sorry to read of your Dads treatment yesterday,& his ongoing condition....Hope its not SCC,but do try to remain positive, which i know is easier to say than to be........virtual hugs to you my friend..xx..

  13. Thanks John xx back to the wonderful waiting game again. On a happier note, one of the ladies from the LOL site will be coming to Ireland for her wedding anniversary in Oct. There is a good chance we can meet up. isn't it strange how TERRIBLE this disease is, in all its forms, and yet brings people together, that would probably never have met? Is this karma ? xx
