If James can suggest a platform with good facilities, blogs, photo albums etc...I'd love to hear from him!
We already have about four 'reserve B2Pca sites' created...but quite honestly....none of them are very good.
MSN groups was the original platform (we had it from 2006 - 2009), and it was the best we ever had..until they did the same as Multiply is going to do in December.
One item that I may take longer to do, will be the personal web pages/sites that exist in Multiply. However, I will be looking at a way of incorporating that into the system. I'm currently looking at a CMS called Joomla which has many extensions to it, such as calendars, multiple media support etc.
Over the next 2 weeks (I'm away next week), I will sound this out and download the files and have a play.
I will email you about that. A late, great, friend (and one of the original Bollockeers), Bernie Boyce, did just what you suggest in 2008.
Bernie: A Diamond Geezer!
At the first Leicester bash 2007:
We had our own url and a customised website. Sadly, Bernie lost his battle in Jan 2009 and the site ceased to exist. However, I had kept B2PCa running parallel on MSN groups.
As I say, I'll mail you about your fabulous ideas, and look forward to working with you on a secure and hopefully permanent new website.
Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteThe message from Multiply isn't on screen every time we log in, so some might not have seen it yet.
Bottom line is that from the end of December Multiply will cease to supply our site with the same facilties we now enjoy.
NO PANIC. I will transfer Bollocks To Pca to another platform later in the year.
This is the second time that B2PCa has had to 'migrate'. It's a bloody nuisance!!
George, I've had it since Tuesday every time I look..
ReplyDeleteSee if James can think or arrange something better.
