Opening music was "yesterday" by the Beatles.
family tributes by, amongst others, Mark's sister and Brother.
The other tribute was by our own Barry (topgun) who read extracts from "The Rocky Road"
At the service was Elsie (Elise's Mum),Barry Lewis, Barry (topgun), Chris B, Mark, George, Grahame (of course as chauffeur to Mark) Chris and Shirley. The church was packed with at least 40 standing at the back.
Sorry the pages are in reverse order.
Chris.
Thanks Chris. I so wished to be there but an important hospital appointment prevented me and we all know how hard it is to get one of those rescheduled without waiting another few months. Good to see a grand turnout by his friends on the forums and that from what you say Mark had a good send off with lots of family and friends to support one another.
ReplyDeleteRest easy Mark.
Roger, You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteI thought that it would be good to share it with those who couldn't be there, wherever they are.
Only too pleased to be of help.
( Posted on here within 2 hours of getting home ! )
PS.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone wants to transfer it to PCC forum go ahead.
Chris.
Thanks to those who attended.
ReplyDeleteI was unable to, but was thinking of Mark throughout the day.
There were some wonderful tributes to Mark from family and friends at the service and later.
ReplyDeleteMark was held is high esteem by so many.
Rest in peace my friend.
Mike
I'd just like to add that the service was everything Mark would probably have liked it to be.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a sad occasion, but it was also a celebration of a life well lived (by a man well loved by all), and Mark's famous sense of humour kept popping though in every tribute that was read out.
Many thanks from me to Mike for helping make my journey south so manageable.
And a special thanks to Barry (Topgun) for his reading of 'The Rocky Road' tribute.
I know just how difficult that was for Barry, bearing in mind he had lost yet another PCa friend on Friday night.
He did a marvellous job, and Mark's family and friends were so proud when they heard the words he had written so well.
The cover photo of Mark was taken when he worked at his favourite job:
ReplyDeleteMatch steward at all Spurs' home games.
