Good Morning Good Peeps
After one of my 'wobbly' days yesterday (ever get days like that?)
I thought I'd try to get my brain working again with some maths.
Give this one a try!
Subject: 111
This year we will experience 4 unusual dates.... 1/1/11,1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 ......... NOW go figure this out.... take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year and it WILL EQUAL ....

THE MAILMAN'S LAST DAY
It was the mailman's last day on the job after 35 years of carrying the mail through all kinds of weather to the same neighborhood.
When he arrived at the first house on his route he was greeted by the whole family, who Congratulated him and sent him on his way with a big gift certificate envelope.
At the second house they presented him with a box of fine imported cigars.
The folks at the third house handed him a selection of terrific fishing lures.
At each of the houses along his route, he was met with congratulations, farewells, cards, and gifts of all types and values.
At the final house he was met at the door by a strikingly beautiful young blonde in a revealing negligee. She took him by the hand, gently led him through the door (which she closed behind him), and led him up the stairs to the bedroom -- where they had a most passionate liaison Afterwards, they went downstairs where she fixed him a giant breakfast: eggs, potatoes, ham, sausage, blueberry waffles, and fresh-squeezed orange juice. When he was truly satisfied she poured him a cup of steaming coffee. As she was pouring, he noticed a dollar bill sticking out from under the cup's bottom edge. '..All this was just too wonderful for words,' he said, .......but what's the dollar for?'
'Well,' she said, 'last night, I told my husband that today would be your last day ...and that we should do Something special for you I asked him what to give you?' He said, "....Screw him ........give him a dollar." She then blushed and added, '.....But the breakfast was my idea!
Morning all....Been up ze Downs, with ze dog....Washed car after all that dogging, as have a funeral later...Elise, would be impressed,or not?....but a sad day,for sure saying goodbye to a fellow PCC & Bollockeer member..Update on here later.. .
ReplyDeleteGeorge....yes it came to 111...
We'll all be with you in spirit as you and Val attend the service, John.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your email, and I know you'll tell Lesley we're all thinking of her today.
Very much reciprocate what George has said John....
ReplyDeleteA Big Hug for Lesley xx
Afternoon all. Stuck at work and this is the first chance for a sit down. Said a little prayer for The Dogster - God speed Paul and we wont forget you dude xx
ReplyDeleteNow back from the funeral, & buffet after, at Pauls local pub....We all congregated at the Crematorium, then we proceeded into the chapel,to the theme tune from 'Faulty Towers',which i understand from his sons eulogy he loved,as he did other classic comedys,& played them time & again..No hymns were sung, but tributes, poems & Pauls favourite music was the theme, ending with The 1812 Overture, which was both moving & apt to close the service.
ReplyDeleteGot to speak with Lesley after, who was hiding her grief well, but took time out to discuss Pauls fight,& she really was made up with all the tributes i printed off from the PCC forum..& also to personal e.mails recieved.
Lesley,is a very warm, attractive person,& Val & myself felt privileged to have attended today...She will carry on the Mirror business, that Paul developed with the help of their son...
She may well, come onto the PCC forum from time to time, once she has got the 'hang of it',& I mentioned Leicester event in june too,& that she would be welcomed by all...
Sad day,but also a fine tribute to a great guy..
Phil...yes!....,Big hugs for Lesley, from us both
Hi John. Thanks for that, was wondering how it had all gone. Not an easy day by any means. xx
ReplyDeleteCheers John
ReplyDeleteJohn, thanks so much for that post. It described the day beautifully.
ReplyDeletePaul was quite a character, hugely likeable, with a wicked sense of humour. Truly 'one of us'.
On behalf of us all, THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE.
