Dear Friends,
I have just had Hilary on the phone, early this morning (Wednesday) telling me Phil was rushed into hospital last night. He's in intensive care and she doesn't know what has happened. She found him collapsed in the bathroom last night, barely conscious and called the ambulance immediately.
The hospital has him in an induced coma while they try to discover the problem. A stroke has been mentioned, as has septic shock...he's had an infection...and he was having seizures on he way to the hospital. It seems to have nothing to do with cancer, but whatever it is, he's in a critical condition.
Hilary will let me know more tonight. She's in a terrible state, as you can imagine.
I am absolutely shocked and devastated by this, and worried sick. Of all the guys in this world, Phil is the one I'm closest to. I know him so well and we've been like 'The Terrible Twins' for years now.
I know for sure that he is dearly loved by every single one of us here. He's never ceased to help and encourage any one of us who was going through times of illness, worry and stress.
I'll post more when Hilary next gets in touch - hopefully later tonight.
Oh no George.......This is just devastating news and I am beside myself here........PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us know ASAP if you hear ANYTHING from Hilary. ReplyDeleteThis is a shocker.
Hoping it's just the infection and can be sorted out soon.
Very soon !
Good to hear from you on here Rob. as far as I can tell, this is not PCa related, just some nasty infection [hopefully] that has been allowed to get out of hand. We all know that Phil is a fighter, and will soon be back up with us all again very soon. Take care of yourself too XX
ReplyDeleteHiya gang!
ReplyDeleteI've just spoken to Hilary, back home from a full day with Phil in hospital.
He is still unable to communicate because of the sedation, but there were some very encouraging signs.
He's out of immediate danger, the infection is now being tackled, but as yet there are no answers to the other serious symptoms he showed last night. More tests and scans will be done tomorrow,
Phil has again been sedated, but not to the extent he was last night.
More good news tomorrow...you reckon? YEP!
Thanks George...please send Phil all our love, and tell him he has to get well ASAP ! Lots of hugz to Hilary and the girls who must be worried sick just now XX
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update George...fingers crossed its a better day tomorrow..
