In answer to your question, it all depends on what software you are using. Normally it'll say whether the total space required is greater than the destination and suggest possible options. Just be wary that the lifespan of a CD isn't as long as people would like to think they are, sometimes as short of 7 years. The best media for saving pictures/photos onto is good ol' paper (provided it isn't exposed to bright sunlight and/or moisture. Then there is also the possibility that come 15 to 20 years time, the computers of that era may not be able to read CD's recorded today! This is a big problem when it comes to reading material archived on computers back in the 70's and 80's (government and big companies).
Maybe there's lies a business opportunity. Since digital media isn't going to last beyond the next 20 years, a year to store photo's on microfiche or negatives (reduced physical size)....

Just been putting lots of snaps onto CD, can anyone answer, IF one has too many photos for 1 disc does the computer get them ready for a second disc?
